Great grammar!
From the on-set, allow me to say I am learning Greek in total isolation and without benefit of a professor, class, study group etc. With that in mind, I found this book amazing. (And this is my third set of books in my attempt to learn Koine.) I ordered this book and loved it, and dived right in. Then I ordered the Bill Mounce lectures on CD, flash cards, workbook, and cheat sheet.
I found the material well paced, clearly explained, and very approachable. I really like that the text is set up in a way that allows you to head into verbs at chapter 10 or stick with nouns and move into the 3rd declension and irregulars. I've opted to head into verbs for a few chapters.
The book is visually pleasing in that it isn't jammed, the fonts are easy to read and the pages have enough white space that your brain doesn't run away the second you open it. Each point is broken down and carefully explained. Plenty of examples are offered. And usually he explains an item by pointing out its English equivalent before diving into Greek. It helps to avoid being overwhelmed.
The other pleasing thing is that Bill Mounce is actually approachable. I've emailed him with questions several times and he responds right away. A very nice man who is very helpful to confused students of Greek.
If you are a solo learner, like myself, order the workbook, the abridged Liddell lexicon, and I highly recommend the Lecture CD sets.
