"The only world atlas updated annually, guaranteeing that users will find the most current geographic information, Oxford's Atlas of the World is the most authoritative atlas on the market. Full of crisp, clear cartography of urban areas and virtually uninhabited landscapes around the globe, the Atlas is filled with maps of cities and regions at carefully selected scales that give a striking view of the Earth's surface. It opens with a fascinating look at world statistics, a six-page special on "Land and Maritime Boudaries," and satellite images of earth, including 8 x 10 stunning new images sourced from NASA's latest Earth Observation Satellite, Landsat 8, launched in 2013. The extraordinarily extensive front matter continues with a "Gazetteer of Nations" that has been comprehensively checked and updated to include recent economic and political changes. The 48-page "Introduction to World Geography" is beautifully illustrated with tables and graphs on numerous topics of geographic significance, such as climate change, world religions, employment, industry, and a new 2-page feature tourism and travel, including information on air travel and major airports, the importance of tourism to the economy, and tourist earnings and spending. The hundreds of city and world maps that form the body of the Atlas have been thoroughly updated for this 25th edition."--Publisher's description.

Paying less than $3.00 for this, I expected a mis-used book in tatters. What a pleasant surprise. The atlas is in mint condition, used only "in-house" at a school library. I realized why the postage was costly when I first held it. Huge and heavy. The maps are detailed and large, and the book contains many pages of world facts. Highly recommended.

Excellent European Atlas
The atlas was written by europeans and does not give good inofrmation on the individual USA states. For the rest of the world it is very good.

What a Bargain
I bought a used library copy of this atlas and it is great. It is one of those huge books in the reference section of the library. It had maps of every thing imaginable. We love to travel and this is a great resource to have at home to chart our travels. The packaging was damaged during shipping so it took a really long time to arrive. It's a really heavy book and it was shipped in a thin cardboard envelope, but the book was unharmed.
