This book gets a poor rating from me for a couple of reasons. My biggest disappointment is that the author hardly ever backs up his statements with references to Celtic literature, and this is why I ultimately gave up reading the book in frustration. He used the Bible or other non-Celtic texts for almost every example he illustrated. A certain amount of this would be fine, but it seems that actual Celtic ideas were added as an afterthought when they should be the main focus. My second frustration was with the lack of substance in the ideas being examined. Unfortunately, they all seemed like basic things that people with any degree of introspection would already understand.

wise and comforting
O'Donohue's writing is poetic and deep. This collection of wisdom and lore is engaging. Pick it up at random, and you will receive nourishment. Studying this book with others is rewarding, too.
I highly recommend this book to seekers and lovers of spirit.

book well written and O'donohue has unique way of blending old and new. Brings an open and thoughtful approach to Celtic lore and fact. Many offerings & insights to plains of thought you may not have encountered before and supports them well. Enjoyed the insight and perspectives.
