Modestly rubbed corners and spine extremities, text block edges darkened by age. xv, 224 pp., with 50+ illus. by John Tenniel (better known for his illustrations to Alice in Wonderland). Interior shows scattered soiling, generally minor. Undated edition, possible American first and certainly early, with introduction dated 1848, dates to no later than 1857, when Collins relocated from 254 Pearl St., its address as given on the title page imprint. Wear commensurate with age, with no major faults, a decent copy.
