Clean, straight and well bound text block, strong hinges/joints, with minimal shelf wear. Gilt spine titles bright. Some moderate foxing/aging signs to page paper edges and endpapers.
Good+ 1850 printing. Red cloth covers with gold-decorated spine. There is quite a bit of wear to the edges of the binding, with the corners and edges rubbed through. Slight fraying to the cloth at the top and bottom of the spine. There is a repaired tear across the middle of the spine cloth. Scattered foxing to the pages, mostly light. The title page also says "embellished with plans of the Battles of Moskwa and Malo-Jaroslavitz" but this copy contains no plans. ex-library, a reading copy only. Thre original binding has been covered with an crude cloth binding with spine titles in white ink. The original binding underneath is probably quite worn. The hinges are broken. pages heavily browned, tear in the margins of 15 leaves with no loss of text. 7 leaves have tears into the text, again with no loss of text.
