Good. No Jacket. Book 228pp. Bound in full leather (calf) with a red leather spine label and "Harriet Newell" stamped in gilt. This is much more than a memorial sermon. It also includes correspondence from Newell to her friends in America as well as portions from her journals. Newell tragically died at the age of 19 years old from a disease she contracted whilst serving as a missionary in India. She was whisked home, but died when she returned. Lacking the frontispiece portrait of Newell. Period ownership inscription on the pastedowns. Corners bumped and rubbed through. Intermittent foxing. Size: 16mo-over 5¾"-6¾" tall.
Very Good. 12mo. 4th Edition, enlarged. Fully bound in contemporary calf skin leather with gilt lettering on spine. Tight binding and solid boards. Minor shelf wear. Slight rubbing to boards. Library bookplate inside front board. Clean, unmarked pages with minor toning.
