When the numerical parts of a quadratic equation are either large numbers or complicated fractions, its solution may often be more readily obtained, by means of one of the "following trigonometrical formulae, than by the common method, which, in cases of this kind, becomes very laborious. Questions producing Quadratic Equations. The methods of expressing the conditions of questions of this kind, and the consequent reduction of them, till they are brought to a quadratic equation, involving only one unknown quantity and its square, are the same as those already given for simple equations. 1.
