Very Good with no dust jacket. A clean, sound copy. The red-cloth covered boards are a bit stained and faded, but not notably frayed or worn. There is a paper label that looks like a library call number, but the only other hint that this was at some time in a library collection is an inventory number written in red pencil on the first blank page, along with an inscription in a beautiful, flowing script stating that the book was a gift from the Historical Society. (The recipient has the intriguing name of Mann S. Valentine, Esq. ) The text shows no signs of wear at all, and the paper has held up wonderfully well. A clear Mylar cover now protects the boards and improves their appearance.
