Fair. No dust jacket as issued. Trade paperback (US). Glued binding. 598 p. Contains: Illustrations. Audience: General/trade. I have for sale an ACCEPTABLE CONDITION softbound textbook of 598 pages titled " AN INTRODUCTION TO POLICING " Fifth Edition, written by John S. Dempsey and Linda S. Forst with a copyright year of 2010 by Delmar Cengage Learning ( ISBN 1-4354-8053-8 ) (27312) This textbook shows moderate cover, corner and edge wear. The covre corners are curled and split, resulting in moderate upturning of the tips of some of the initial page corners. Small tears or splits are visible along the top and bottom edges of the binding. Clear tape has been used to reinforce the binding edge. Light markings are visible along the bottom page edges. Glimpsing through the pages, I saw a considerable amount of highlighting. If highlighting is not a concern, then this textbook should serve your class needs. Chapter Titles are: Police History, Organizing Public and Private Security in the United States, Organizing the Police Department, Becoming a Police Officer, The Police Role, Police Culture, Personality and Police Stress, Minorities in Policing, Police Ethics and Police Deviance, Patrol Operations, Investigation, Police and the Community Policing, Police and the Law, Computer, Technology and Criminalistics in Policing, Homeland Security.
