About this title: Though it only contains six songs, To Go, the Antonio Carlos Jobim compilation put out by Verve, is a very good, albeit very, very brief glimpse into the composer and musician's life. The thing is, even nominal fans of Jobim will probably already have the three albums from which these songs were culled (Stan Getz and João Gilberto's 1963 Getz/Gilberto, Getz and Charlie Byrd's 1962 Jazz Samba, and Jobim's own 1963 The Composer of Desafinado Plays), so at best To Go works as a nice, cost-efficient introduction to listeners unfamiliar with his work. Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
