About this title: This is a nifty and puzzling little set of tracks that, with the exception of having a track by Willie Nelson, has nothing to do with the outlaw boom in country music during the 1970s. Waylon Jennings is nowhere to be found. Some original wayward country stars -- Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and Jerry Lee Lewis -- are in the house, though. But having Freddy Fender, Charley Pride, Jim Reeves, and Don Williams included on an "outlaw" comp is just absurd.
