About this title: The Blues Roots of Bob Dylan collects Dylan's early heroes of the genre, including Sleepy John Estes, Blind Willie McTell, Mississippi John Hurt, Leadbelly, and Bo Carter. These 20 remastered tracks are an excellent sampling of predominantly country blues from the '30s. While listening to these originals, it becomes obvious that Dylan didn't change much, wisely capturing the honest grittiness found on this set. Whether a fan of Dylan or the original blues masters, this is a recommended compilation that will more than satisfy both. Al Campbell, All Music Guide
