About this title: The companion disc to Eternal Jazz features ten classic selections from the vaults of Columbia and is an excellent introduction to jazz. It's hard to go wrong with Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus, Chet Baker, Thelonius Monk, or Bill Evans to name half of this disc's lineup. While not intended for the die-hard jazz aficionado, who more than likely already has this material, the Eternal Jazz series is nevertheless a highly recommended set. Al Campbell, All Music Guide
