About this title: Lifehouse Elements is a sampler of Pete Townshend's gargantuan six-disc box set The Lifehouse Chronicles, itself the culmination of nearly 30 years of work on his intended follow-up to Tommy. Though much of it was recorded for Who's Next, Townshend never abandoned Lifehouse, eventually completing it in 1999. It debuted that year as a radio play for the BBC and that play, along with selections of demos, experiments, and orchestrations, were collected on the box (only available through www.eelpie.com).
