About this title: A reasonably good idea for a tribute album, Boston Drops the Gloves: A Tribute to Slapshot is devoted to one of Beantown's best-loved hardcore bands. Slapshot might not have been prominent in the national consciousness but its impact on the local scene can be measured in the number of Boston bands -- 22 -- eager to pay their respects here.
