About this title: Containing rare recordings from 1938 and 1939, this Danish CD spotlights two sides of Teddy Wilson: big band leader and unaccompanied solo pianist. The ten solo piano numbers (which include "Tiger Rag," "My Blue Heaven," "That Old Feeling," and "Loch Lomond") were recorded for a tiny label called Teddy Wilson School for Pianists and were put out on limited edition 78s in the late 1930s -- it wasn't until the release of a 1984 LP on the Merit label that the recordings enjoyed widespread distribution.
