About this title: After four excellent volumes featuring local and regional soul charters, ITP Records veers slightly off its course. "Baby Come Close," by Smokey Robinson, one of my favorites, doesn't belong on the Underground Oldies series, no Motown recording does since they're readily available elsewhere. These tracks read like a Northern Soul compilation, only Smokey Robinson's "Baby Come Close," Gene Chandler's "Man Temptation," and Barbara Lynn's "Until Then I'll Suffer" are familiarities.
