About this title: Jump on In would seem to have an advantage over DQE's debut, in that it was recorded as an actual album rather than as a series of disconnected studio sessions. In reality, a sameness of tone settles over these recordings, even though they run the stylistic gamut from folk to indie rock to old-fashioned rock & roll. Grace Braun's developing interest in country music is evident on "Honky Tonk Wishing Well," and a general aura of rootsiness surrounds the album's lyrical themes and songwriting forms.
