Half Way to Heaven (1996)

About this title: The M 'N' M Trio consists of banjoist/vocalist Jimmy Mazzy, Eli Newberger on tuba, and clarinetist Joe Muranyi. Together on this CD (part of which was recorded before an audience), they explore a variety of tunes from the 1920s and '30s, some of which are obscure (including "You'll Long For Me," "So Little Time," "You Wonderful You" and the title cut)...There are an awful lot of Mazzy's good-time vocals, and although fine in small doses, they tend to dominate this program and take away from its potential variety.
