About this title: Ghoti Hook runs through a clutch of rock & roll favorites on the rowdy holdover record Songs We Didn't Write. Beginning, naturally, with "I Love Rock & Roll," the band punks and pops up tracks from New Order ("True Faith"), Violent Femmes ("Hey Nonny Nonny"), and tears into goofy fare like Michael W. Smith's "Friends" with obvious glee. The latter's appearance is typical Ghoti Hook -- the band's Christian identity has always been slightly skewed from the Christian music genre's normal niceties.
