About this title: These 14 songs were recorded in 1963 and 1964; material from these sessions appeared briefly on Canada's Rebel label, as well as Piedmont. The mood is late-night informal, although there's little, if anything, in the Hurt catalog that could not be called informal. Hurt's originals are dotted with standards like "See See Rider," "Do Lord Remember Me," "Casey Jones, "and a seven-minute "Stack-O-Lee."
