About this title: The fifth Evidence Blues Sampler continues the tradition of mixing and matching Evidence's current releases, this time circa 1996. This does not mean that the collection is devoted to contemporary recordings. Instead, it gives a good blend of the label's new(ish) recordings and reissues. This can result in a little bit of a schizophrenic feel, but by cherry picking releases by artists as varied as Big Mama Thornton, Paul DeLay, J.B.
