About this title: Rodgers & Hart get the royal treatment from Verve with this fine mix of classy vocal jazz interpretations. Tapping mostly the '50s and '60s, the 16-track set includes sage readings by such heavy-hitters as Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, and Joe Williams. The disc also features a few modern takes by Abbey Lincoln and Shirley Horn. As with the majority of Verve's songbook compilations, this tribute to Rodgers & Hart is not to be missed.
