About this title: Although St. Louis had a sizable R&B scene in the 1950s, it wasn't nearly as well represented on vinyl as those of Chicago and Memphis. The Bobbin label was one of the few small St. Louis-based R&B labels, and this compilation presents 29 sides that were recorded for the label in the late '50s and early '60s. These were mostly in a jazzy jump blues style that, while accomplished, was becoming outdated even then.
