About this title: Stephen Sondheim, considered by many to be Broadway's top composer, has had a career largely irrelevant to jazz with very few of his songs being adopted by creative improvisers. The Varese Sarabande label has thus far featured pianist Terry Trotter and his trio (with guests) reharmonizing and often swinging four of Sondheim's scores including music from Passion and Sweeney Todd.
