"I loved this version of Persuasion, even though it wasn't completely true to the original Jane Austen novel. It has a spirit that the 2007 version and the BBC version lacked. I recommend it to every and any Jane Austen fan or those who like a love story filled with sophisticated dialogue, complex motives, beautiful period dress and locations, and wonderful acting."

Premise: Young woman persuaded to turn down the proposal of her true love because of his apparent lack of prospects finds herself an "old maid" several years later. But, hark! he reappears on the scene, wealthy and more handsome than ever. Does he still love her as she does him? Well, of course he does and the lovers are reunited after a few twists and turns and schemes.
