"This was the first of Nelson Eddy/Jeannete McDonald films that I had seen and enjoyed every minute of it. The songs are beautiful to hear and are well done. This movie has everything from a lovable puppy to songbirds, a puppet show featuring Jeannette, pirates taking women for their wives, the hero (Nelson Eddy), who is in love with Jeannette, and more. Highlights of the movie are Jeannette and Nelson in a canoe and he sings to her with his rich tenor voice, and at the end of the movie Jeannette and Nelson sing to each other with heartfelt emotion. The movie also has comedy. It is a very heartwarming film from start to finish and is a must see, if you like old musicals. It is a movie that you will want to watch many times. I rate it a 5 star classic."
