About this title: Don't judge a book by its cover, and don't judge a CD by its hokey title. Despite its cheesy name, Viola Swirl for the most part features some exemplary compositions for the viola along with some first-rate performances. First on the program is the Suite by composer Kenji Bunch. Himself a violist, Bunch's composition plays directly to the strengths of the instrument and downplays its weaknesses.
