"Patterson has a hit with Sergeant Lindsay Boxer and the Women's Murder Club. I feel like I'm visiting with an old friend while reading this series. It is a swift read: characters are not overly defined, but I feel familiar enough with each that it seems like I am hearing a good story from someone close that I trust. I enjoy hearing about their searches through familiar streets in San Francisco, the puzzling cases they solve, the inner office play between a few key characters, and the varied plots and light romantic highlights with Lindsay's personal life. This series is a stress-free guilty pleasure that keeps me reading and grinning until the end."
"The 6th Target By: James Patterson Pgs. 403 First Grand Central Publishing ISBN: 978-0-316-01479-3
Most people in the world come to New York City to see the main attractions. Some people also come to kill. In this book, The 6th Target, a mysterious man suddenly appears upon the Staten Island ferry, and he seems to be enjoying himself. Suddenly, a mother yells at her son and he's the one who gets annoyed. What does he do then? He takes out his gone, and goes on a shooting spree. Now it's up to Lindsey Boxer (a federal agent) to try to find this mass murderer, because after all he did kill her best friend, but what happens once the guy gets caught and get this little girl soon gets kidnapped? It's to be said that the same man that killed so many people on the ferry is behind this kidnapping too. How could something like this even be possible..? I actually enjoyed this book because it was so surprising the things that would happen next. At first you would read it in the killer's point of view, so you do get a chance to see through his perspective, but then it switches back to the main character. I think that this was brilliant, how we also get to see what's going on in the villains mind, and also what he sees through his point of view. James Patterson is a great author and he was very creative in making this book a hit. All his books in Women Murder Club Novels begin with a number, so it makes sense to try to figure out what had happen previously. Anyone who enjoys something and anything about villains and confusion would like this book. Since this book does show how the murderer is in jail but is yet still somehow behind a kidnapping seems to be genius, I think that this is the reason why so many people were hooked on this book because there seems to be no logical explanation on how this would be possible. Using your imagination would be key, because sometimes in this book things aren't what they seem to be."
"Horrifying attacks are great I will consent. But the heights to which the insanity of the evil antgonist is taken is a bit much for my wee brain. Which is to say that the characters in this story couldn't have fought their way out of a plastic bag, cuffed or uncuffed. I suppose I could be grandios and say that they are a collection of t.s.t.l characters, otherwise know as, "too stupid to live." Man, I love me some Patterson. Nothing like a great literary feast. Beam me up scotty, I'm into some high quality stuff now!"
"The sixth installment of the Women's Murder Club series is not as good as the fifth in my personal opinion. I agree with some of the other reviewers, that the plot, constantly going back and forth among THREE stories, was choppy. First, you have a cut and dried case of a man randomly shooting people on the ferry and then turning himself in. An insanity trial follows. Second, someone is kidnapping little kids and not asking for a ransom. Third, there is a crazy man running rampant in Cindy's apartment complex. Three different plots. As usual, Lindsay Boxer is the main character that saves the day and everybody in it. We see some Yuki in here and again, very little of Cindy. I cannot help but note that yet again, Lindsay greets a male co worker at the door just after a shower clad in practically nothing. That is the THIRD time. Perhaps the Women's Murder Club has ran its course."
