"this book didn't necessarily revolutionize my style, but was a quick and entertaining read with tim gunn's witticisms and sassiness, no doubt targeted at fans of project runway. but the book succeeds too as a practical guide to how to dress and compose oneself. i have a new determination to really clean out my closet and pare down my wardrobe to the pieces i actually wear. unfortunately, that will continue to include things that i may not wear but still call out to my soul. i also got to add the worlds ungulate and sartorial to my vocabulary."
"I ate this one up! Great step-by-step advice about how to dress appropriately for your figure, accessorizing, how to avoid sweat suit dependence, how to put together a stylish and workable wardrobe with the most bang for your buck, shopping tips, how to distinguish a quality item while shopping and what to avoid, and best of all....how to dress tastefully! Tim Gunn's abhorrence to sloppy, careless dressing is emphasized and the reader is challenged to step outside of their comfort zone and step up into presenting themselves to the world in a more pulled-together manner. What can I say? I love Tim Gunn and all he stands for....motivating everyone to take pride in how you present yourself to the world! I hope he writes a follow-up."
"Something that I picked up from the library on a whim because I was missing Mr. Gunn and Project Runway. I like reading these "how to have buy and wear clothes" sorts of books sometimes, especially the ones with a list of pieces every woman should have in her closet. This book has a list, which is pretty good, and subscribes to several of my own fashion philosophies, which is also good. Not worth buying, but a fun two hours spent on fluffiness, and good at what it is. Written in a kind of annoying style, but better than most of the other books of its kind."
