"i got this free galley and read it on the subway home because i was curious about my body; boys are sort of left to figure out body things on their own, and -- feeling ambiguously guilty about having used jack daniels as aftershave a few times -- i decided to see what all the fuss was about. i immediately liked this woman -- the author -- because she was all about throwing skin products out. then she said, "no whiskey" and shilled her own products in place of the other stuff. by that point i was too scared of my own skin to fight back. now i am big into SPF oil-free moisturizer, not touching my face (even when necessitated by exaggerated gesticulations), and "not stressing out my largest organ". i guess i recommend this book for clueless dudes who aren't worried about enough things already, and for ladies who maybe didn't get the health class memo (and are already worried about a billion things, anyway). I give this book a four for quality of information disseminated; a negative ten for literary merit. i figure that evens out at around 2 stars."
