"I have read 4 of her books now. I have really enjoyed the simple love stories that make your heart ache with it wanting to work out, without all the sex and lusty details. I love how the frienships form and the characters being so individual from each other but it is exactly what they each need to help and support each other."
"This is a wonderful story about the bonds that women form. The owner of the yarn shop has had to deal with cancer, her tenant is dealing with an unexpected pregnancy, her sister is dealing with a car jacking, and another friend is dealing with an out of control wedding namely her own, Alix does not want to offend her new mother in law to be so has basically let her and another friend do what they want and of course she is not happy with what they are doing. I would recommend this book it is really a good read. This is the first book I have read by this author but will definitely read more of hers. I am hoping to finish this soon but am now on page 205"
"In this book, Debbie Macomber brings us back to the Good Yarn. Lydia, the owner and Margaret her sister run the yarn shop. Lydias knitting class this time around is to make a prayer shawl. Susannah, the new flower shop owner from next door, and Susannahs new employee, Colette have both signed up for the class. A face from the first book, Alix also joins this class. Alix is looking for a way to relax and take her mind off her wedding planning fiasco. Although good intentioned, Jacqueline, another charecter from the original book, is stressing Alix and Jordan about the wedding arrangements. During the course of the class, we see Margaret and her daughter Julia go through a tragic time, we also get a glipse of the troubles that made Colette leave her former job and work for Susannah.
Book 3 ..... This book was a little slower moving than some of Debbie Macomber other works, but the charecters are heartfelt and realistic. The thoughts and feelings of several are so intense and real that you can empathize with them. Overall, a good addition to the Blossom Street series. I am eager to try out the 2 prayer shawl patterns included in the front of the book."
"This third book the knitting class started out making a prayer shawl. Alix is preparing for her wedding to Jordon the youth pastor. She is trying to be agreeable and not cause waves with her mother-in law to be, Susan and Jaqualine, her stand in mother and friend, but she finally calls off the wedding when it becomes everything she didn't want it to be.She also overhears a conversation by her mother-in law expressing concern for her son's proffession in marrying Alix. Doubt takes over. Her grandmother to be is the saving grace. Margarite's daughter is carjacked and is dealing with the physical and emotional aftermath along with her mother who is revengful and angry. Lydia is blissfully married to Brad and contemplating adoption. Colette blake is a young recently widowed new tenant of Lydia's and in her knitting class. She has a secret...she's pregnant by her former boss who she has found is involved in smuggling chinese people under the cover of his imports business. She tried to deny her growing love for him after his support after her husbands death, but fails even when dating someone else. She only realizes it when he goes missing. She works at a flower shop while running from her feelings for Christian and delays telling him about the baby."
