"Lindsay McAllister works for Griffin Powell's investigative agency trying to find the serial killer brutally murdering former beauty queens. She is in love with the husband of one of the victims but he is staunchly resisting. For her own welfare, Judd is horrible to Lindsay but with the best of intentions. He knows that he is incapable of returning her affection and is trying to protect her. The killer is relentless and twisted as hell...killing faster than Griff's team (and the FBI) can handle.
This is an excellent mystery which kept me turning pages as fast as I could. This is gruesome and not for the faint of heart but terrific nonetheless. The instant animosity between Griffin and Nicole (the FBI agent) is intense and I sense in a future book the romance will be wild and eminently enjoyable. I can't wait for her fall as she is very arrogant and determined not to like Griff."
"I read this novel out of the order of the Griffin Powell series. This is the third book and so I was confused where the relationships and the story's time line was concerned.
The Dying Game is about the Beauty Queen Killer. He's called that because he kills only people whom have been a Beauty Queen in their past. As Lindsay McAllister works to find out who killed Judd Walker's first wife and all the other BQs. As the novel goes on the kills begin to escalate, coming sooner and more brutal. Lindsay decides the only way to stop the game is to become part of the game herself.
I really enjoyed this book apart from being confused at the beginning, but that was my fault. :) I always end up liking one of the main characters. This held true, Lindsay was my favorite character.
The book itself was fairly fast-paced and thrilling. I always had this bit of excitement inside as I read, hoping that none of the main characters would be injured. All in all, great book!"
