About this title: Told by the one person best qualified to tell it, this is the story of a 24-year-old teacher who seemed to be on the Golden Path to the good life but went so far wrong, and how her decision impacted not only her own life, but her husband, her victim, and many others.

"I agree with others who have said that this book was poorly written and poorly edited. It was also unnecessarily graphic. I read the book because I was appalled by the news coverage related to the Lafave story. I felt that the seriousness of this woman's crime was underplayed BECAUSE she was a woman. The overall impression that was given by the media, in my opinion, is that it is more "okay" for a female (a teacher by the way, in a position of trust) to violate that trust because an underage boy (fourteen!) is less of a victim than an underage girl would be. I found the whole thing to be very disturbing, and the book didn't effectively address any of my concerns."
"The story was compelling reading. The publisher did a lousy job editing the book. In some places there were repeated words and even repeated sentence fragments. I don't expect Mr. Lefave to catch this but, the publisher should have. Isn't that the job of the editor? I did find that the story was tough to put down. I wanted to see how the story unfolded. Debra dropped major clues all over the place. It is a shame no one stepped in to stop this. I am sure her husband really had no clue. But, her co-workers were fools. Just my opinion."
"I'm a little embarrassed that I read this book, but seeing as how this all happened here in Tampa, I was fascinated with the situation! The book is poorly written, but what happened is unreal. I actually enjoyed the book in spite of the writing and have a totally different perspective on the case now!"
