About this title: In this follow-up to "Match Me If You Can," quarterback Dean Robillard takes to the road during the off season and finds Blue walking along in a beaver costume. Blue is cautious when it comes to love, but her defenses are no match for a determined competitor like Dean.

"This was the first of her books that I've ever read. Considering how I tend to not enjoy contemporary romances (don't really know why), it was surprising that I even bothered choosing this book. It was a spur of the moment decision (or more like, it was available at my school library and needed a fix). I picked it up last Wednesday, and already, I have finished about 5 of her books. This has to be one of the best stories ever. The relationship is built beautifully and the humor, I loved it. Dean is simply hot. Blue is a great character that is easy to identify with, despite her strange upbringing and lifestyle. Their interactions are the best. I was cracking up constantly. The secondary love story was also a plus. I'm glad that she always adds another compelling couple in her stories."
"At the annual ALA convention (this year, held where I live) I got a chance to hear Susan Elizabeth Phillips talk about her life and work and how the women in her family are long lived and have children later on. Her grandmother was born the year the civil war ended! How cool is that!
She discussed this book, and read from the beginning which was fantastic for me. Though actually, this book was not nearly so fraught with will they/won't they tension as Match Me If You Can or Breathing Room, but still, you can never ever ever go wrong with a Susan Elizabeth Phillips story. She makes me proud to be a romance reader.
In this book, Blue Bailey's fortunes have just taken a turn for the absolutely devastating when Dean Robillard of Chicago Stars fame wanders into her life. The book focuses a lot A LOT on the struggles Dean has forgiving his family for the way he was not raised by them. Blue has her own family issues, and in the end dealing with your demons to be able to let love in is the theme in question with this book. I loved it and would recommend it to all of you."
"Susan Elizabeth Philipps is starting to get to me with her contemporary romance books!!
Blue Bailey is thinking of a way to extract his ex-lover from the faces of the word; And then, he met Dean Robillard. She struck him as gutsy, tough ,and yet, beautiful even without a single dab of make-up - every natural born charmer such as himself has
But she is in much more need than everybody sees, her mother just emptied all her accounts, his boyfriend who asked her to come with him suddenly left him, and her last hundred dollars was stolen. So now, she needs to summon every willpower she has to attract and string along Dean Robillard (the famous quarterback of Chicago Stars) without her knowing that he is letting her string him along for the distraction of his family and his previously dislocated shoulder.
Dean Robillard is also tough. Secluded and yet public. He's always in pubs in parties surrounding himself with people and yet giving away few- if not nothing- about himself. And that's when he noticed that he needs fresh air to clear his mind and that's how he decided to go to his farm in Tennessee and had happen to meet Blue Bailey.
BOTH TOUGH. BOTH GUARDED. yet BOTH INSECURE, SOFT INSIDE. So...
How can a person such as themselves find love, affection, and security that was never given to them since birth from each other?"
"It started off very promisingly. I enjoyed the bantering between our hero and heroine, even if I didn't actually *like* either of them. (On the other hand, they did seem moderately realistic as human beings unlike many heroes/heroines in romances.) And while the plot was completely unrealistic and wacky it felt like the author didn't expect the reader to take the plot seriously. It was kinda like she had leaned in and said, "let's ignore reality and see how much fun we can have tormenting these two".
But about midway through it seemed like the author ran out of steam. The plot got rather bland and the interaction between our hero and heroine got boring. This is definitely *not* my favorite title by this author."
