About this title: The time has come for Meredith Gentry to put aside her detective work and fulfill her ultimate obligation to the world of Faerie where her efforts to conceive an heir to the throne of the Unseelie Court are crucial to restoring magic, and life itself, to the fey kingdom in this fifth volume of Hamilton's bestselling series.

"Reading this was like an encounter with Hentai without the illustrations. It was sex with fantastic creatures-- as many as you can stand in one night-- with barely a bit of story running along with it. I was not impressed.
The annoying thing is that this book is part of a series and I cannot help but finish a series. I'm not going to go back and read books 1 through 4 (where I would possibly learn why Merry seems to either have had sex with every male creature in faerie or has promised to), but I will most likely be seeing Meredith Gentry to the end of her faerie existence."
"When A Stroke of Midnight left off, Meredith and company are still holed up in the underground fairy mound of the Unseelie Court, with the princess still trying to get pregnant. Mistral, one of the queen's guards, is on temporary loan to Meredith after the recent attempt on her life. The powers that they stir up affect some serious changes in the land of faerie, none of which make Queen Andais happy. Sholto, King of the Sluagh, comes to terms with Merry and awakens the Wild Hunt. Again, the book takes place in approximately one day."
