"what can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? The BEST cookbook I have ever picked up from the library.I make her desserts every sunday and also thru the week. When the kids asl me what's for supper they also ask if we are having one of "Dories desserts" love her@"
"I saw this book on an email from NPR's Lynne Rosetto Casper as one for people who like baking. She had some interesting ideas in her recipes. A lot of fruit and fruit purees for texture, not taste. The cake on the cover looked amazing, but it was probably the only recipe in the book that I would make. It was a good book to borrow from the library."
"lovely. if you adore martha stewart like i do, dorie's book is one you will treasure! the only issue i have is that you need tons of time to prepare all of the yummies inside and that is definitely amiss at this juncture of my career..."
"There are so many lovely things about this cookbook that I'm not sure where to start. I have never been the most confident baker, yet somehow everything I've made from this book comes out beautiful and delicious. I think it's partly because Greenspan gives her hungry readers so many options for making each recipe feel like their own. Most items feature a "playing around" section with ideas for transforming the tastes to suit your own. She also tells brief but helpful stories about how she learned of each recipe, why she loves it, and how she thinks it is best served. Many-Ways Banana Cake, Dimply Plum Cake, and Tartest Lemon Tart are just a few of my favorites. I can't bear to give this book back to my library."
