"Dr. Seuss was one of my favorite childhood authors. His books were easy for me to read as a very young child. They are excellent primers for beginning readers. They are also beautifully illustrated and they will tease and twist your child's mind into a delightful pretzel filled with laughter.
The Cat in the Hat has got to be one of my favorites. It is a wonderful story about how a cat shows up at a child's home one afternoon and turns the house into chaos.
I would have to say that Dr. Seuss' writing has affected my own since I write books in a humorous albeit adult vein. I am grateful for the creativity that he sparked within me.
Davis Aujourd'hui, author of "The Misadventures of Sister Mary Olga Fortitude""
"I also like that the Cat in the Hat comes back another time(that's like the book's name). I wish I could meet the Cat and the Hat....... *POOF!* The Cat in the Hat appears! "Whew! I spent miles and miles to get to you and this is the welcome I get???" *Everyone bows to The Cat in the Hat except for Niko(in the Percy Jackson series)* "Niiiikkkkoooo!!!!!!! Why aren't you bowing down to meeee????" *Niko shrugs* "My back hurts today. You see, I am an old 90 year old man just pretending to be Niko." *Everyone gasps* "Whatever. I'm actually Niko." *Cat in the Hat takes off costume* *Everyone gasps* "This is stupid! I am now going home!" *Starts walking* "Actually, 90-year-old stranger, can you take me home?" *90 year old man shrugs* "You're not supposed to go home with strangers, but if you insist...." *Grabs Niko by the hand and skips off in the moonlight* "Uhh..... what's happening?" *Real Cat in the Hat comes in* *Everyone tries to take off his head* "Hey! OOH! OW! GET OFF OF ME! OW! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "Guess he's not a fake...." "Why would I be a fake?" "You look like a fake." "Well, that's offending!" "Well, you don't look like him! The Cat in the Hat has a hat!" *Cat in the Hat feels head* "Oh. You're right. I left it at home. Oh well, guess I should go home and get it.... Goodbye!" *Drives off* "Uhhhh...... what do we do now?" "Who knows?" "How far away does he live?" *Everyone starts chattering* "I'm back!" *Everyone is still chattering, louder* "I'M BACK......." *Everyone chats even louder* "I'M BACK YOU PEOPLE! DON'T YOU WANT ME TO BE HERE WITH MY HAT??????" *Everyone stares at him blankly* "Uh.... not really." "Oh, that's offending. I drove 60 minutes just for someone to tell me that they didn't want me to be here????" "Something like that." "Drat!" *Drives away*
OK! After a really non-related story from me, let's just say that this book was good and I liked it. OK? Was that good enough????? No seriously. Why is nobody answering me? WHY???? ANSWER ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh. Wait. This is a computer. I am not chatting with anyone. That makes sense. Over and out!
"super duper summary Dr. Seuss wrote over sixty books and created many memorable setting. One, The Cat In The Hat". The cat brings a cheerful, exotic, and exurberant form of chaos to a household of two young children one rainy day while their busy mother leaves them home alone. Already i love it! Cratures being brought into named, "Thing one and Thing Two" perform wacky tricks to amuse the children. Amusement! The cat then cause chaos through the home and when the narrators, "Sally and her older brother" show large amounts of fear and anger of the turnout of the house the cat, and things cleans up the house and on his way out , dissapearing seconds before the mother arrives!!
"In the first book featuring the character (The Cat in the Hat, 1957), the Cat brings a cheerful, exotic and exuberant form of chaos to a household of two young children one rainy day while their mother leaves them unattended. Bringing with him two creatures appropriately named Thing One and Thing Two, the Cat performs all sorts of wacky tricks to amuse the children, with mixed results. The Cat's antics are vainly opposed by the family pet, who is a sentient and articulate goldfish. The children (Sally and her older brother, who serves as the narrator) ultimately prove exemplary latchkey children, capturing the Things and bringing the Cat under control. To make up for the chaos he has caused, he cleans up the house on his way out, disappearing seconds before the mother arrives."
