April is a big girl now, and has a house of her own in Boston. It's an exclusive house, catering to well-off businessmen. She has a problem: someone is trying to muscle in on her business using strong-arm tactics that will ultimately force her out of the market. Can Spenser help? Of course he can. He and Hawk, along with a raft of imported muscle, manage to keep the establishment protected while trying to find out who is behind the whole scheme. As in any Spenser book, he doesn't always get the straight story from the rest of the players. The only people he can trust are Hawk and Susan - his live-in psychologist. There are wisecracks galore, as you have come to expect, and plot twists that surprise you, but he finally gets to the bottom (no pun intended) of things. This is a fast-read beach book."
