"It's after reading these enormous "canons" of the craft that I always think of giving these books up. There is just too much plot and years of continuity being forced into this story, and not enough legitimate reason to care. Other than the, "well, you won't know what's going on in the Marvel Universe afterwards." Which is a pretty lame reason to ever read something."
"Occaisionally, it delved a little too deep into Marvel history for a casual reader like myself, but nothing that prevented me from following the story. I greatly enjoyed the pathos put into this story, especially in the "awakening" sequences. Spider-Man is too often used as the vocal emotional superhero, but he was used here perfectly. I've also never seen the X-Men and the Avengers rub shoulders so realistically, each team reacting like the different groups that they are. Overall, not bad for a Marvel big event."
"You'd think that I would have learned not to read Marvel comics, because I don't have the background knowledge to follow what's going on. Case in point: House of M, which I had heard awesome things about from my comic-buff friends, but could really only follow at the most surface level."
