"I've never seen so many corny pictures of an author all over a book. There will be a picture of him sitting on a pier on one page, then on the next page is the same pose from a different angle, and so on. My favorite is the one where he & his sweetheart are holding chilled glasses of something & staring into each other's eyes...on a beach. Later on, they're walking down the beach hand in hand--it might even be sunset. This is in the section for desserts, naturally. Because when you eat a raw foods diet, all you need is love.
Which brings me to the next annoying thing about the book, which is the riff on Beatles, Stones, Joni Mitchell, et al, song titles for the recipe names. Doooood, we know you're chill. We could tell from the yoga shots and the long curly locks.
As for the food: I would totally eat this food if I could pay for someone else to make it (which, apparently, is what some people do: this guy has a business making raw food meals for celebrities). Seeing as how I would need to invest a thousand dollars or more in equipment for many of the recipes, not to mention the cost of gads of fresh young Thai coconuts. (I'm not even sure that "flesh of young Thai coconut" is vegetarian.) My own humble kitchen will not suffice for this book."
