"Wright's version of "Mere Christianity". What I mean is its a basic treatise on Christianity but I do believe it is significantly different than Lewis' book. Wright is a big proponent of "story" and how we all fit into God's grand story. He speaks a bit about this in this book, especially as it relates to the Jewish people in the Bible. Its a very interesting way to look at Scripture."
"I would recommend this book to those who are interested in becoming a Christian, but don't have a good strong background in Christian study. Or even those Christians who feel they need a better background in the history of Christianity and why we believe what we do. I gave it to my sister to use in her young adult class in her church."
"I liked Surprised by Hope better, but this was really good too. I get's compared to C.s. Lewis' Mere Christianity, and that's not very accurate, well maybe for the first chapter or so. After that it's very much written for people who have plenty of experience in the Christian faith. It's basically a more logical/structured argument for what is said, better I think, in Surprised by Hope."
"I happen to think it should have been subtitled "Why Christianity Makes Sense to Those Who Are Predisposed to Thinking That Christianity Makes Sense." But I have my biases."
