I found myself getting angry at her son in law (who according to the mores of the time was bound to care for her as if she were property)and cheering Lyddie on as she chose to be independent, strong, and unconventional."
Pre-revolutionary War Saga. Lyddie's strength is amazing, as is her heart for Edward. I love the author's research and connections; this is "half" of Gunning's family story to a great degree.
I have read many books on the struggle of Jews, Blacks, Native American Indians, and other groups; however, this was a true "women's study" piece.
