"I received this as a Christmas present. I have several books on sewing from the 1956-1980 and I couldn't find anything in this book that wasn't covered in those. If you have no beginner sewing books this is very handy and well done - it has lots of photos and detailed explanations. If you have experience or an existing library this may be a waste of shelf space."
"pretty good starter book, but if you're starting from scratch, some of the terms may not be familiar if you aren't acquainted with your machine very well."
"This is a really great instructional book. Great pictures and step-by-step procedures, however, the projects shown in the book are not really "of the moment" or the most stylish, but a great starting point."
