"A decent book about the Oregon Trail (one of my favorite things to read about). It goes more into the gritty details of how hard the journey was than other books I've read, but aside from that, there wasn't much substance to the book. Oh, well. It would be good for reluctant readers.
"I bought this book because I thought it was an actual journal of an Oregon Trail emigrant, which is what the title of the book says. It isn't. It is fiction, and a waste of money. If you want a made-up journal, you might love this book. If you want an actual journal of someone who made the trip there are many available. Unfortunately, this is not one of them."
