"As opposed to the high ratings given by other users, I had to give this a low one. The only things I enjoyed about this story are: 1) Wren is a hybrid, he could be a tiger or a snow leopard. I love tigers; 2) Time traveling 3) Savitar, and a little something about Nick (I miss him a lot and I hope he appears more on the next books)
Although I was carried away by the writing sometimes, I still felt like a spectator in the story, the plot wasn't exactly fresh. Loner meets senator's daughter, sparks fly, lust mounts, there's violence, the chase, the running for life - I found it boring, but I still read on.
I have to admit the sex was over the top, the scenes were sometimes creative and they were really on fire. I guess the main appeal of Wren's character was how he treated Maggie, he showed how special she is, and that she's everything to him. I appreciate the twist though, on how they'd be together. But still, I wouldn't read this again, didn't like Maggie that much."
"OK, after reading a few books in this series (Not in order) I really liked this one! My Fav charecter so far (by far) is Zarek but second to him has to be Wren. I also liked Maggy....she was so ordinary and I loved that about charecters. I think I liked Wren because he was so similar to Zarek, quiet and "dont give a damn" attitude is just so...YUM!!
I also liked the fact that Wren was freak amongst freaks, and how he felt and dealt with that.
"This novel in the Dark-Hunter series focuses on what would appear to be a doomed romance between a were-hunter tigard (cross between a tiger and a leopard) and the daughter of a prominent senator. I enjoyed learning even more new information about the were-animals, such as Vane, Fang, and Aimee. The story was fast paced and only made me want to continue the series. I'm still waiting on more about Acheron, but now I am also intrigued by Nick Gautier (who appears at the end of the novel) as well as Savitar (who seems a lot like Acehron)."
"Okay, I'm am officially lame and I blew through this book in one days worth of reading. I liked the fact that it (again) wasn't the typical Dark-Hunter book. The were-hunters and a nice departure from the dark-hunters and give it a little more variety. While the ending was bittersweet, it was overall a good book. I agree with a lot of the other reviews in that the chick character is a lot less annoying than the others, although, compared to some other female leads, the dark-hunter books are completely not even close to their level of annoying. Yes, the sex scenes kind of repeat the same phrasing over and over in all the books, but, hey, whatever works, right? I can't believe I'm still going strong in these books -- so which one is going to start with the bondage? Isnt' this around where the Anita Blake books went bondage? Hrm..."
