"Samuel Johnson's Dictionary was the first ever dictionary produced in English language. If you are unable to get a copy of the original edition or a facsimile of the original edition, you will be disappointed to read a heavily edited reprint edition like this one. You see, Johnson's original edition define numerous words with a touch of humor. For example CIGAR: A roll of tobacco inwhich fire at one end and a fool at the other end; CLERK: A s writing instrument that undergoes simple imprisonment from 9 to 5; OATS: Cattle food in England and general staple in Scotland..etc.etc. I ordered several variations of the Johnson reprints and failed to see any of the above meanings to the words provided by Johnson. I therefore do not recommend this edition to any one."
