"This was a really fun book that made me groan delightedly at the absolutely skewed vision of Alaska from an Outsider's point of view. While I'm sure the author did research into Alaska living, there's no replacing an actual visit...and it's pretty clear that she watched Northern Exposure for reference material. That said, the story is delightfully silly. It's somewhat ridiculous, and a little bit melodramatic - and at times, sizzling. And to be quite honest, I got a kick out of how off she was on so many things. We Alaskans love to be snobs - who doesn't? - but some of us also have a sense of humor. And if you have one too, you'll probably enjoy this book. Just don't use it for Alaskan research."
