"After reading Bridget Jones' Diary, I decided that self-help books (ESPECIALLY on dating) sounded too hilarious to NOT read. This book does not disappoint. It. Is. HILARIOUS!! I mean... that's not to say it utterly lacks any kernel of wisdom, but the very concept of it is so ridiculous! Or at least, it comes across as ridiculous to neurotic, anti-social 21-year-olds who view dating as an alarmingly distasteful activity. At least when it is approached with such a meat market mentality. Ah, but that meat market mentality is so immensely entertaining. I love the image this book creates... I can just see these "social events" with bemused men and scheming women ticking various behaviors off lists, attempting to ignore all of the system's caveats in a desperate attempt to find a mate. It seems so... stylized... so... well, like the movies or something. Yes, this book is wonderful. I just hope the advice hasn't subconsciously seeped into my brain."
