About this title: There's no witch in Cincinnati tougher, sexier, or more screwed up than bounty hunter Rachel Morgan, who's already put her love life and her soul in dire jeopardy through her determined efforts to bring criminal night creatures to justice. Between "runs," she has her hands full fending off the attentions of her blood-drinking partner, keeping a deadly secret from her backup, and resisting a hot new vamp suitor. Rachel must also take a stand in the war that's raging in the city's underworld, since she helped put away its former vampire kingpin - and made a deal with a powerful demon to do so ...

"I really, really love Kim Harrison. She puts so much life and fun into her series. The characters have to make tough choices and sometimes, there's just no escape. It makes them real and alive. It makes them more human instead of simply words printed on a page. The humor everyone, but especially Rachel, has makes the book so fun to read. I find myself still laughing the next day about what I read last night. And the romance in it makes me want more. I feel like Ivy needing to slake her thirst. I need my next fix and soon. Seriously, you should give this series a try if you like adventure, humor, wit, romance, and paranormality. You won't be disappointed"
"I am not sure WHY i like these books so much... but they are very entertaining to me. Yeah i lost some sleep on this one, i was up way past my bedtime reading AGAIN, just to see how Rachel was going to get out of each mess. I liked this one even better than the last, i guess I attribute that to Kisten, yeah i like his character. Yeah hot bad boy thing goin on for Kisten. I sort of missed Jenk's not being around so much i missed his wise cracks and at times Ivy's little obsession with Rachel was just odd... Yeah, can't think of a better word. Ivy has some issues goin on there.
I really got a better vibe for Rachel in this one, does she make bad choices ? Well YEAH... that is an understatement, but it also keeps it interesting and on edge waiting to see how Rachel is going to get out of her lastest mess.. I like that she is trying to bail herself out of her own predicamments though. I did feel bad for her when Nick left town, but i felt bad for Nick too, but i still like Kisten even though they both are competing for Rachel, I think Kist is better suited for her. I loved the 'Lee' angle StanLEE... yeah that was good, and Trent well he just keeps surprising the reader as well. Overall, not high end lit... but I just really like this series so far."
"After the second in this series, I was hesitant to pick up the third, but since I enjoyed the first so much and because of a certain demon contract that Rachel had to get herself out of, I went ahead and read it. I'm glad I did. The ridiculous tension with Ivy has been put aside for the most part, and Rachel gets some actual character development. I was annoyed at some of the peripheral characters, however. Without giving too much away, let me just say that I hope Harrison doesn't introduce random safety button characters in the next couple of books. Overall, a solid read, and one that I enjoyed."
"This series is just getting better and better. Rachel has really come into her character and I really enjoy reading about her. A combination of Buffy and Stephanie Plum, bumbling her way through her very temoltuous life. But the awesome thing about Rachel is that when she is in a jam she is good, fast-thinking and self-preserserving.
I LOVE Kisten and I love that he and Rachel got together in this book. They are perfect for each other, she fits with him better than Nick did. Rachel needs someone who can keep up with her and a human just can't. And while Kisten's vampness is an issue her practice with Ivy helps her deal with that. And Kisten does seem to truly care for her and not her blood, unlike Ivy. So I think Rachel can be more herself around Kisten.
Nick comes back in the next book. Should make for an interesting triangle between Nick, Kisten and Rachel. Plus, will she get Jenks back, how will her "pack" status wil David work out and where will Trent once again pop up? Because that man is interwoven thick into Rachel's life. I still don't like Ivy, but I am slowly warming to her as she is not persuing Rachel with as much fervor as before.
